MonkeyPox Indonesia Updates For Foreigners
Update per September 3 2024
Starting Tuesday, August 27th, travelers entering Indonesia from abroad must complete an electronic form known as the SATUSEHAT Health Pass, in response to the monkeypox (Mpox) outbreak. This new regulation has been officially confirmed and authorized by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DJPU), which issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 5 DJPU of 2024 concerning the mandatory use of the SATUSEHAT Health Pass for international travelers.
“The issuance of SE 5 DJPU of 2024 provides guidelines for Air Transportation Business Entities and Foreign Air Transportation Companies, ensuring that all individuals [flight personnel and passengers] traveling abroad and entering Indonesia complete the SATUSEHAT Health Pass electronic self-declaration form,” stated the Director General of Air Transportation, M. Kristi Endah Murni, in an official statement on Thursday, August 29th.
The SATUSEHAT Health Pass form is accessible at https://sshp.kemkes.go.id and must be completed before or during check-in at the departure airport to avoid delays at the country’s entry points, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s official statement released to the press on Thursday.
Travelers are required to provide personal information on the SATUSEHAT Health Pass form, including their full name, mobile phone number, date of arrival, arrival airport, flight number, seat number, and details of the country of departure, any transit countries, and other countries visited within 21 days before traveling to Indonesia. Once the form is submitted, a barcode will be generated containing the traveler’s health and travel history, which will be scanned by officers at the airport arrival gate. Travelers are advised to save the code after scanning.
“Completing this electronic form is a crucial part of our early warning system for detecting Mpox,” added M. Syahril, the Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Health. “If you experience any illness or feel feverish with other symptoms of Mpox within 21 days of arriving in Indonesia, we urge you to visit a hospital immediately and present the barcode.
